Starbucks' Key Ingredient


Honestly, there is no clear succession plan for Starbucks employees. Perhaps, it would be best if it hires barristas who have intentions of making coffee a lifetime career.

But this does not happen at Starbucks. Since employees are seasonal barristas, there is no clearly defined succession planning in the company. Being a barrista, in this case, becomes a hype and does not play an important role in the organzation's structure.



Herman Uscategui immediately shunned the idea of working with that company. He is a 'values' man. He believes in the enculturation of managers in the company's headquarters before the managers could set up shop in their home countries.

The Star Team is expected to reinforce appropriate behaviors between new hires. As new hires are lead by example by the team itself.

 
In terms of implementing its core value of protecting the environment, moreover, the Team helps green teams from other countries to conserve energy, recycle, and make improvements at low cost.
